Dr. Nicolás A. Almeida Arostegui is a cardiothoracic radiologist at Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Madrid, with particular expertise in advanced cardiac imaging, including cardiac CT, cardiovascular MRI and spectral CT. He holds Level III certification in cardiac CT from both the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT), as well as the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR).
He combines clinical activity with an extensive commitment to education and professional societies. He is Secretary of the Spanish Society of Cardiothoracic Imaging (SEICAT), Faculty member on the Master’s Programme in Advanced Cardiac Imaging at Complutense University of Madrid, Co-Director of the Madrid Cardiac CT Academy and faculty member of the London Cardiac CT Academy. He also participates in undergraduate medical education at Francisco de Vitoria University.
Dr. Almeida completed his radiology residency at Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal in Madrid and obtained his medical degree summa cum laude from Universidad Internacional del Ecuador. His scientific activity includes more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, contributions to several book chapters and co-authorship of a reference work on coronary CT procedures. He is a regular faculty member and invited speaker at national and international meetings in radiology and cardiovascular imaging.
